How we handle your data

Privacy notice

Last updated 30 October 2026

This notice covers the one thing we collect on this website: the email address you give us if you ask to be told when the Frindo design files are ready. There is nothing else.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is First Layer Robotics Limited, which operates this website and sends the Frindo updates.

First Layer Robotics Limited
27 Kings Road
Colwyn Bay
Conwy LL29 7YH
United Kingdom

Registered in England and Wales, company no. 17196606. You can reach us at hello@frindo.org.

For completeness: the Frindo name and the robot design files are owned by Jonathan Luke and licensed to First Layer Robotics Limited, which runs this site. Any question about your data goes to First Layer Robotics Limited at the address above.

What we collect, and why

We use it to send you updates about Frindo and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, share it for anyone else's marketing, or use it to build a profile of you.

Our lawful basis

Your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. You gave it by ticking the box and confirming the address, and you can withdraw it at any time — every email we send has an unsubscribe link, or just reply and ask. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we sent before you withdrew it.

Who else handles it

We use MailerLite to store the list and deliver the emails. They act as our processor, which means they handle the data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We have a data processing agreement with them.

The website itself is plain static files. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no tracking scripts, so nothing about your visit is recorded unless you fill in the form. It does load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to fetch them.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until we close the list. If you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record that you did, so we do not accidentally add you again, and we keep the consent record for a reasonable period afterwards as evidence that the subscription was lawful.

What you can ask us to do

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

Email hello@frindo.org and we will deal with it. We will not ask you why.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it

Please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you about it rather than rely on you noticing.
